People may be nervous to enter your business. Be willing to listen to customers’ concerns. Be prepared to respond abundantly.
Once you have started to define authority levels and lanes of responsibility, you can add a decision matrix. It doesn't have to be formal--just something so that your team knows when to escalate what and what they are empowered to handle on their own. With your team working remotely, you may not be available when they need a decision. They can save time by moving things forward on their own through the use of a decision matrix.

As businesses begin to reopen, do you feel comfortable visiting them? If you have been out at all to stores or businesses other than the grocery store, you are seeing many new restrictions and rules. For example, some places are making your wear masks while others insist you wash your hands upon entering. Others are restricting the number of people allowed in the business, thus making for long lines outside. When you visit small businesses, remember they are doing their best. Please give them the space to make these restrictions so that they can resume conducting business in a safe way. Essentially, pack your patience!

You guys are great at knowing what something costs but you don’t know what it’s worth.
A mentor shared this quote with me once. He was telling a story about one of his commanders in the military who hated when higher ups from D.C. would visit. This unit was working in a high-threat area and knew exactly what equipment they needed to accomplish their mission. The visitors from D.C. only appreciated what that equipment cost.
As business owners, we have to focus on both. We have to watch our costs to ensure our business is sustainable in the long run. Yet we must also focus on each asset’s worth. We generally do not renew subscriptions that do not serve us, we get rid of equipment we do not need anymore, and we purchase services that support us and the bottom line.
