2020 is Right Around the Corner! What Do You Need to Do Now to Be Ready?

A yearly planner is right around the corner in 2020

Wow, can you believe it? 2020 is almost here! One quarter left to go!

Just today, someone reminded me that the holidays are around the corner. For her, that means she and her business will slow down. She plans to use the rest of the year to prepare for 2020, to start fresh.

2020! While it is just another year, it does seem momentous does it not? I mean, it is synonymous with “hindsight is 20/20” and “20/20 with Barbara Walters.” How can you not stop and think more about your life and your business with a year like that? We are entering the 20th year of the 21st century, I cannot think of a better reason to reflect on where you have been, where you are going, and where you want to go.

Looking back on this year (or decade, or century, because really), what do you wish you could have done differently?

  • Hired more people?
  • Create some SOPs so you could have hired more people?
  • Fired some people?
  • Have time to think through a strategy?
  • Have time to implement that strategy?
  • Been a stronger leader?
  • Gone to more networking events?
  • Been more productive?
  • Taken more time off?
  • Been more deliberate in your actions?
  • Measured your actions for results?
  • Use those measurements to plan your next actions?
  • Grow more?
  • Slow down?
  • Pursue fulfillment over achievement?

You have one quarter left to make changes to start 2020 the way you want to. And 2020 is the year to live and work the way you have always wanted to!

Weekend Retreat anyone?

Take a weekend retreat to think, strategize, and plan out what you would like to do differently going forward. You could even make it a thing with your fellow business owner friends. Your business will survive taking the weekend away. No email or access to work. Just you, your thoughts, your friends’ feedback and insights. Start strategizing and creating a plan for action.

Use the 4th quarter to implement the change plan so that you are ready to go by 2020!
