A Marketing Makeover
Website Upgrade, Social Media Outreach, and SOP Documentation
TinkerTech's Founder, Claire Comins, believes coding is learned best when it is a shared experience - whether that's when kids are working with other kids, or kids are working with a teacher or mentor. In business now for over 10 years, TinkerTech Camps has a dynamic curriculum of fun hands-on STEM activities and projects to ignite and excite students ages 7 to 14. Based in Marin County in California’s Bay Area, TinkerTech's workshops and camps are also available to schools and clubs by license.
Claire always knew she wanted to enhance her marketing and build out her website with a unified look. She says,
"it was a task on my list that I had never fully tackled in the past."

The Challenge:
Claire approached Freedom Makers in search of a project manager with good design skills to help launch a new website for TinkerTech Camps. She also wanted someone to help develop a coherent brand message and look for all marketing.
At the time, Claire told us,"As founder, I love my business and love talking about it! My main weakness is that I am a big picture person and need help staying on task for the more routine parts of the business. I am bringing on a Freedom Makers to outsource the jobs that I never get done by myself."
Our internal team found several qualified candidates for Claire to speak with. She matched best with Naomi, an Army spouse who has experience with project building, graphic design, marketing, web design, and fundraising.

The Solution:
Naomi sets up SOPs (standard operating procedures) for everything she does for Claire, from how to add a new class to the website to the best practices for designing a post for Instagram to how TinkerTech hires and onboards new teachers.
In addition to documenting everything so that Claire can be best positioned to scale, Naomi has also updated Claire's website and created marketing materials for TinkerTech, including presentations and media packs.

Impact:
Claire is thrilled.
"The coherent look makes me more confident to reach out to new potential partners, including schools and grant-awarding organizations."
With the help of her Freedom Maker Naomi, Claire has outsourced some important outstanding tasks from her to-do list. Claire is now able to focus on growing her business by reaching out to new partners with confidence. She feels inspired to continue to provide good quality after-school programs and camps that serve other young moms (like Naomi & other Freedom Makers) who balance their careers with their busy lives!
Claire says,
"It is easy to get stuck in the weeds as a small business owner - the right Freedom Maker can help you look at your own business from a more elevated position!"
